Important SJHA Organization Update To Publications / Articles - Important SJHA Organization Update

One of our cofounders expressed her intent to separate herself from SJHA on the evening of July 4th, 2024. Unfortunately, there are several things she decided to hold hostage or destroy that belonged to SJHA. We have tried to resolve things in a fair and amicable way, but unfortunately she is refusing to work with us.

  • The same evening she informed us of her intent to separate, she removed Kristi and Amanda from the SJHA Facebook group, previously called South Jersey Homeschool Association Teams, Clubs and More. She has changed the name to South Jersey Homeschool Clubs, Activities, Classes and More. We have created a secondary Facebook group here (https://www.facebook.com/groups/6069936906464033).

  • She has deleted over 100 operational files from the SJHA google drive, to date we’ve only recovered about 20 of them. We have time stamped evidence that the deletion came from her gmail. The deletions occurred over a 15 minute span on June 14th.

  • She changed the password on the SJHA mailchimp email account. She then proceeded to download the SJHA email list. She then proceeded to change the password back after stealing the information. We have records of the IP address that accessed mailchimp to download the mailing list, all time stamped on July 5, 2024.

  • On July 9 at approximately 12:15PM she unpublished or deleted the SJHA website which has removed our access to that and or our SJHA email addresses. You can find our new website here (members will be receiving email notifications soon with login credentials, so if you have an active membership you do not need to join at this time): southjerseyhomeschool.com

  • Immediately after Kristi’s email was then accessed to change the PayPal password. We thankfully have recovered that from PayPal. To our knowledge there have been no fraudulent paypal charges to our members, but we are closely monitoring all financial accounts. Please contact us if you notice anything suspicious.

  • She currently has other SJHA property in her possession including, but not limited to cash proceeds from a fundraiser that benefited our scholarship program and the passwords to several accounts that SJHA pays for and manages.

South Jersey homeschool association is a 501c3 non profit and therefore trustees cannot claim ownership over business assets. We felt that as a public charity, we owe it to our members to disclose these events.

Despite these hurdles, South Jersey Homeschool Association remains committed to our vision of providing support to families choosing to home educate their child. We will continue to strive to make sure resources and enrichment are accessible.

We are organizing and committed to continue our mission of providing support and opportunities to our homeschool community! In the next few weeks we'll have information about our new website, fall co-op, and all upcoming activities.

If you have any questions or concerns feel free to reach out to Amanda or Kristi. You can also reach us via email at [email protected]
